I originally lived in Victoria and moved to Perth when I joined the Navy over 25years ago as Marine Diesel Technician. I have stayed in the Rockingham area as I finishing a Law Degree whist I was still in the Navy.

My passion was around social justice, so after completing my degree, I applied for a job as a Local Area Coordinator at The Disability Services Commission. This led to me spending 20 years in the disability sector in many different roles but always advocating for people with disabilities and their families.

I left the Commission in 2013 and joined a family-owned National Disability Insurance Scheme registered company and there I gained more skills around supporting people to Navigate their funding plans as they slowly changed over from the Disability Services to the NDIS.

The NDIS can be quite challenging, especially trying to understand the process of utilising a new plan. This is why with my friend Gayle with the same aspirations and objectives as myself supporting people with their own challenges and navigating their plans together is why we opened our own Support Coordination business and called it Navigate SC. We felt it was the most fitting name for the description of walking participants through which services they need based on their goals and empowering choice and control within themselves or their family member.
